At The Banker’s Toolbox he was Sr. Developer. He was responsible for the team that created the software to any detect fraud issues within their system. L Mike Smith
Business Development
L. Mike retired from Verizon, after working his way up to a lead position in global marketing, developing strategic solutions for Verizon’s largest Enterprise customers, such as a Wall Street Stock Brokerage, where he participated on a global team designing, purchasing and logistically deploying pre-configured customer premise equipment in 34 countries. His third-party vendor contract negotiations enabled Verizon to secure a long-term telecommunications contract valued at $1B over a five-year term.
In Mike’s youth, while living in Colorado, he was a National Rodeo competitor, who after high school joined the PRCA, Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, graduating from college while on a full rodeo scholarship. Over the past 16 years mentoring young men and young women in the Texas Youth Hunting Program (TYHP), where he produces three hunts annually. He designed our country’s largest youth deer hunt, held in Stonewall, Texas known as the Cave Creek Super Hunt, now a 16 year tradition.
Mike and his wife Cynthia are in the process of moving to Weimar, Texas, to live near Cynthia’s family owned and operated Whistling Duck Vineyards and Winery, where Cynthia is the Event Coordinator.
Mike has his Texas HEMP Producers license and is planting a small demonstration grow utilizing organic farming practices, while test-driving new cutting edge technology to grow HEMP for CBD extraction. His dba “Camphouse HEMP” has become a fun learning experience that Mike intends to expand and share with future large scale farmers as Texas enters our first HEMP Growing Season.
Mike has been working with Hempliance as a freelance contractor throughout the 2020 year. As Business Development manager, Mike has been very successful helping Hempliance forge new relationships with valued strategic partners, such as a US conglomerate specializing in compost and soil amendments with proven production yield improvement, large scale fiber and grain farmers within Texas and located in several western states, fiber and grain processors, extraction companies as well as forming alliances with other software startups and established farming software and solution providers nationwide. With Mike’s lead, Hempliance is building our Hempliance Research and Development Alliance – partnering with like-minded business leaders, pairing data scientists, connecting Hemp testing laboratories, Texas farmers and a few politicians.
